Limping AKs UTG end up HU against the BB

Postby Stoneburg » Mon Jul 04, 2005 4:50 pm

Table is loose, my image is probably not that good, I've lost a few big pots and I have reloaded at least once here. I have just below the buy-in, Villain has me covered. Villain is a bit LAGy.

I can't see him having the straight, cause he threw out a blocking bet on the river... I think he's got KQ and you win... I would've reraised his minraise on the turn, though... If he's got the straight, you'll know it if he pushes the turn...

Am I reading this right? You are holding the A[h] and the flop has the A[h]. Was that supposed to be the A[d] on the flop?

If there's a possible flush on the board things look different.

I think you played it reasonably. I'm not sure if I raise when a straight is possible. People like to play JT. If you raise and get reraised you face a tough decision depending on stack sizes. It's nice if you get into fewer "tough decision" spots.

I felt like I played this hand too weak. After all, on the turn I have top two against a blind. The recent beats + the "mini-raise = monster" made me hesitate and I think I left a bunch of money on the table. BB had A5 (once again people check when they are ahead and raise when they're behind, go figure)
