bad turn check?

Postby briachek » Thu Jun 30, 2005 6:10 pm

Villain is loose but seems semi solid. Was this turn check good and I just got a bad card or should I bet it. He called the flop very quickly. He later said he had the J so if he isn't lying, I saved money and he probably wouldn't fold on the turn.

Most people will just pound away at every street. Personally, I like the turn check as long as you are going to call the river if a jack doesnt hit.

Once you check the turn, hes going to bet the river almost every time because hes going to assume you have AK/AQ.

i was gonna call unless that jack hit. I knew he was gonna bet it no matter what and the worst card came out for me.

MG is saying that if he thinks you have AK, he should check the river because he can win at showdown. That may be treu that he SHOULD check, but he wont.
