had a feeling I should make a big bet

Postby AlamdeaMike » Thu Jun 30, 2005 1:31 pm

I had a feeling that I should make a bigger bet on the flop. However, TPTK is not that strong of a hand in NL -

Comments. Thanks

I'd play it about the same. I don't like that he called the flop raise and then led out weak on the turn, that is too often a "please raise me again" bet. But even if it is weakness, you only have 2nd pair but the nut flush draw, so I'd call most times, maybe semibluff a raise a handful of times. Just calling the river is right when you only have 2nd pair but he's giving you 12:1 to call.

Make a note on this guy though that he called a flop raise w/ TPTK and then led a weak turn bet when overcard fell. That's good info.

with people behind me and the nut flush draw, with top pair I am not so sure I raise this hand.

you have two people to act behind you, of course if you just call he may put you on a draw.

I play this both ways I am just thinking I only may call here, but that turn card is ugly and you can only call a small bet there.

I would raise the flop and turn..check/call the river.

That turn bet is a blocking bet...and with the nut flush draw behind you..I think it's a good time to get your money in.

I wouldve raised the flop a bit more and raised the turn also. He wouldve folded to a turn raise, but even if he doesnt you have the nut flush draw to fall back on.

Aggression wins in NL and you have the hand to do it here.
