I would usually bet a little less on the flop, closer to the pot of $2.50... But, with his weak lead bet, he either has a crappy Jack or is drawing the same as you... You've got a ton of outs, but you actually don't have a made hand yet, and may get into trouble if your spade doesn't hit the turn and you've already built the pot enough that he's gonna throw out a nice bet...

On the turn, there's nothin to do but go allin and pray he doesn't have a larger flush... The odds of you both having the flush are pretty low, and he may be playing [As] J that way...

He really should have the nut flush. That's the only thing that makes sense. At the very least [As] and a Jack.

Your raise on the flop seems a little big, maybe $3 would have been more appropriate. When someone minibets then call a big raise I'm usually thinking flush draw. Of course it could be a total muppet who can't fold TP, or someone playing a set completely wrong. Hard to tell without any read.

My reasoning for the call is that, since Dogg has the flush, the odds of him having a straight here are greater, and he'd probably of played it a similar way... Lots of people will call w/ trips here, outside chance at 2pr or TPTK...

If he Big Blinded his way into a nut flush, I'm gonna pay him off almost all of the time...

You are totally right. I did not notice the guy was in the BB, that makes the flush a lot less likely. All of a sudden hands like J2 and QT make (sort of) sense.

I like it, with out being there and with out having my own read on the big blind, he could have way too many hands that you are ahead of including AsTx QT JT two pair or a set. If the bet seemed like the play based on your previous knowledge of the opponent than you played it marvelous. I would pleased regardless if I was right or wrong if my reasoning for playing it like that was sound.

The flop bet isn't too strong, it is his bet and pot. I know it might sound nuts, but sometimes I like double the pot here. You are a favorite to win the hand vs. everything except QTs, QT will call, a set will call.

On the turn you hit your hand, and I'm fine with the play, if you can be reasonable sure that he will play hands other than the bigger flush this way. Given that it doesn't look like you were on the flush draw, he might be more inclined to take QTo this way, he thinks you have a set or AJ. If I was at the table playing reading both hands from the sidline, i would have one of you on QT/AJ/set and the other on the flush, I would be surprised to see two flushes. Doyle, in SuperSystem, says this is a danger that you have to be willing to accept for playing small suited connectors, that flush over flush happens, but it is rare. I agree with Doyle, the guy has to be at least semi-solid for me to muck it.

I really think this is a hand that results don't matter against your average .50/1 Party player. If he has the bigger flush so be it, if he sucks out a boat bigger flush, not much you can do. If your read said I think of him as semi-solid you can probably come up with ways to imagine a fold.

I don't like this hand. That straight draw is enticing but more trouble then it's worth. Your flush is not high either. This probably isn't a hand I play aggressively on the flop.

Though...mini bets pissed me off so I probably would have ended up raising anyway :)

I don't see how you can fold on the turn. You still beat flopped two pairs, trips, flopped straight etc etc. Your pots odds aren't very good though.

Results, sorry I forgot I didn't include them for a couple of day.

Opponent showed 83 of spades to high card me by one. Oh well, I still like my play.
