So I'm in Tunica now. At the Gold Strike where the WPT event is going on at. They have their meeting rooms and ballrooms set up with temporary poker tables. They all together probably have 100 tables or so. There is tons of PLO action. AT night there is usually 3- 2/5plo, 3 - 5/10plo, 1 - 10/25plo and then there is a huge 25/25/50 PLO game that is running. THere actually isn't much NLH action, some 1/2s, 1 or 2 2/5nlh and a couple 5/10NLH games.

I've been playing the 2/5plo and there is usually a "mandatory" $10 Mississippi straddle on the button so its more like a 5/10plo game. I've decided I do not like Mississippi straddles. Most players only straddle OTB and when that happens the pre-flop action starts directly left of the straddler. THerefore, the SB is first to act and has to either call the $10 or fold or raise. Next is the big blind who has to call the additional $5 or fold or raise; then utg and so on. It makes the pre-flop action very different and it is not something I am use to and therefore probably why I dislike it.

im currently +478 in the 8hrs i have played so far. I had to spend a lot of yesterday messing with returning my one-way rental car back to the airport then taking a shuttle back to tunica.

I would straddle every time I had the button, assuming I was not on a short stack.

Ive been running great the last couple days and am up $2,807 for the trip so far. Ive had two big pots that i scooped which are predominately responsible for my winnings. These are both FR 2/5PLO hands.

Hand one:

Button straddles for $10. 2 players limp, I raise pot to $60 from the co with . BTN calls, sb (who is an action player) 3-bets pot to $270 total. limpers fold... its back to me. I am a little over $800 deep and im pretty confident this guy has AAxx almost always since he recognizes me as being a tight player and this is the only hand I have raised at the table so far. So anyways, i decided to gamble and call. BTN folds.

SB pushes me all-in for $540 in the dark.
Flop:
So I obviously call. SB has AAxx with the diamond draw. So I have 51.5% equity and I spike the on the turn and win the coin flip.

Hand two:

Button straddles
I raise to $35 from the sb with , 6 players call.

Flop: ($210)
I lead pot for $210, 4 folds, then the CO who is a big donk action player thinks for awhile and calls. Button folds.

Turn: ($630)
I lead pot for ($630) which leaves me with $180. CO thinks for a long time and eventually puts it allin. I call.

River:
I river the nuts and win. CO shows AK so I was actually a 70/30 dog on the turn but his call there with AK is pretty awful, IMO. But he is a donk and thats what donks do. When he called I actually thought i could have the best made hand. Against any straight+flush draws I have them crushed plus I should have fold equity vs AK and 88. But maybe not against this player but the flip side of that is he is likely to call with stupid hands where I am the strong favorite.
