Limp raise from the CO

Postby stealthtt385 » Fri Jun 17, 2005 6:44 pm

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (9 handed)

MP1 ($10.70)
MP2 ($10.45)
MP3 ($30.45)
CO ($25.25)
Hero ($35.70)
SB ($32.05)
BB ($11.85)
UTG ($22.95)
UTG+1 ($26.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Kc], [Ad].
5 folds, CO calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.25, 2 folds, CO raises to $4.1, Hero calls $2.85.

Flop: ($8.55) [Ks], [5s], [Qh] (2 players)
CO bets $8.55

Opponent is 29/1.96 and 5.0 agression on the flop. Is this an easy fold? Should I have even called his limp raise? I was a little baffled, because this is only the second time anyone has done this to me, and the first guy had KK.

You can't fold here. What kind of flop are you looking for? The flop has hit you just how you wanted to. If you called the preflop limp raise then you most certainly have to call the bet here. I am with Ice, I probably would have pushed all in before the flop, but even if I did not do that, I would certainly be pushing in now.

A limp raise from the CO, that is one of the dumbest plays I have seen. Its such a weird play thats its hard to put him on a hand. Its hard to see why he would do this with AA, other than that KK is very unlikey, QQ is the only other realistic hand that hurts you. I think its more likely that he has JJ or 1010, this is one of the few times TPTK all-in seems like the best play.
