Don Shula is a whiny bitch

Postby Rhound50 » Thu Nov 08, 2007 7:56 pm

So most everyone has read/seen this, Don Shula believes that the Pats should have an asterisk put in the record book if they go undefeated. Is just me or does this really looks like an old man desperately clinging to his past/youth. Shit he is a hall of fame coach, its almost like he is afraid people will forget him if his team no longer holds the record.

Watching the 72 Dolphins pop champagne every year after the last undefeated team loses is even worse. Watching some old guys bask in the glory of something that happened 35 years ago is kinda pathetic. Its one thing to get together with your buddies and have a drink, its another to celebrate your superiority after someone else loses, there is something really egotistical about this and it really rubs me the wrong way. I really hope the Pats go undefeated so we don't have to see this crap every year.

I got into a discussion with my buddy about this exact topic. He was sitting there complaining about how the Pats are running up the score and blah blah I hate all Mass. teams blah blah... And then I pointed out that we are going to have to listen to Shula and the rest of the washouts again. (that stupid champagne ahhhhhhh) Needless to say I won the argument and he is proudly rooting for the Pats to do it. :D

I see absolutley nothing wrong with the Dolphins popping champagne every time their record is preserved. Whats pathetic about it? As long as they handle it with class when / if it eventually gets broken I think its fine.

Some might say that Shulas comments are the first sign that hes not being classy about the possibility of losing the record, but I do think there should be an mental asterisk. I mean, the team was given the biggest penalty if NFL history for their actions. Whether or not they got an advantage over other teams by doing what they did we probably will never know, but they still have proven that they arent worried about cheating to win so I do think they deserve an asterisk.

Hopefully Pittsburgh beats them and we wont have to worry about it

Sarcasm, or serious? I'm not saying I know of one, but I bet that if someone watched every game over again, they'd find one sufficiently similar.
