I'm relatively new to poker, been lurking around on 2+2, BTP and cardschat reading and learning. Started online poker in Dec 2006, deposited $50 on Party poker, played the .05/.1 limit games. Took it to $75 plus $25 bonus money, transferred the funds to Bodog and started on 10NL FR with a $200 BR.

I don't really clock massive amount of hands per month like some of the BTP-ers. Most of the time I play during the weekends, sporadically over the weekdays. Overall, about 6K-9K hands a month. Over the last 11months, I took the $200 over the $2K mark playing 10NL FR, 25NL FR, then I went to 6-max exclusively. 25NL, 50NL then 100NL 6-max.

Just last week, I dropped 4 buy-ins in 100NL 6-max, went on tilt and dumped the rest on QQ in 2000NL. I logged off and went off to sleep. Woke up the next morning, realised that I'm left with about $250 in Pacific Poker, decide to start all over again at 10NL 6-max.

I've been on a down-swing of 10 buy-ins before, broke even over 20k hands, but I guess I just wasn't used to the 100NL limits.

So, let's start over again.

Current BR: $593.20 at 25NL
Target: $1,000 at 50NL(December 2007)

Oh yeah, I'm leaving for Vietnam on the 1st of Nov till 11th of Nov. That means I won't be able to clock any hands over that 11 days.

Anyway, hoping to put in 20K hands over the next 2 months, run really hot at a princely rate of 5PTBB/100.

Just sneaked in a few hands at work during lunch hour, the players at Pacific poker are seriously loose and fishy. They'll call down with middle pair in a multi-way pot? It baffles me, not that I'm complaining since I'm up another buy-in at 25NL after 50 hands.

I'm trying to sneak in as many hands as possible before I make a break for Vietnam. I seriously want to get back to 50NL where I'm really comfortable, Bankroll says noooooo...

How strongly do you guys play JJ with a 45/12.5/2.5 Villain? Do you 4-bet all-in preflop?

blech...i hate JJ. unless i've got a really solid read AND position on my opponent i play it like 55. raise it PF, call a 3-bet looking for a set. post flop play is really dependant on the situation. i think i've lost more $ with JJ in the last two weeks than i even care to think about and most of came from playing it too strong vs. obv. overpairs or big aces when overcards flopped.

I'm BAAACCCCCKKK!!!! Good Morning Vietnam!!! It's been a crazy trip, travelling lots on trains and bumpy buses; living in USD$3 guesthouses is just plain lovely.

Poker-wise, I'm losing a little drive to put in consistent hands/hour since I came back. I'm moving out from my girlfriend's, life bad beats, I'm taking it easy before I donk off my bankroll again. I'll be shifting out this week, it's amazing how easy it is to wipe off traces of your existence in a house you've been living in for 4 years. I live pretty spartanly, I have only two 65 litres bag of clothes and books.

Enough of whining about lost love and life! Poker results so far.

Been playing on and off, whenever I can concentrate... the usual 4-tabling for an hour or so, I think I clocked about 1.5K hands the last 3 days.

AK vs KQ, 4xbb raise, Villain called and flopped two pairs and doubled up. He's a shortie anyway, lost 40BBs there.

Made some donkey moves myself and sucked out, made me realise how far my game is from good. I think I'll need to re-examine the way I play. My hand reading is still pretty bad. Suck at OOP play.

Interesting hand today on Pacific:

I'm on the Button with KK, 3 Limpers, I raised to 7xbb, got two callers.

Flop (33BB)
8h 6h 6c

Villain donkbets 25BB, I called and the rest folds.

Turn (83BB)
7d

Villain bets 50BB, at this point he has about 35BB or so left, I have him covered. The board is looking really wet, and I SHOVED!!!

What's your play? And what range do you put the Villain on?

Been really busy shifting home. Work's a bitch, working 16 hours day, 7 days a week since I came back from Vietnam. Somehow, I still manage to sneak in a few sessions. Nothing really memorable, except the usual unbluffable calling station and ultra aggressive donks... Somehow, if I manage to adjust to them individually, I might be able to increase my winrate.

3-barrelling someone who will call you down with pocket deuces is definitely not profitable. At one point, my BR dipped below 800, but that's nothing really, it's not as if I'm having a 10 buy-ins downswing.

Anyway... BR update
