Opponent just sat at the table. Opponent has $400..I have opponent covered.
The table just got 4 or 5 handed btw.

Opponent raises to $12 from LP. I call from the SB with [Jh]. One other guy calls.

I check. Other guy (muppet) checks. Opponent who raised preflop bets $15. I call as does the muppet.

Anyway...Checked to opponent who bets $45. I raise to $140. Muppet folds. Opponent reraises all-in for $233.50 more. Its 233.50 for me to call..pot is $503.50

Call or fold...and why?

I really dont like how you played this but you know that yourself. Lead out or checkraise flop. Sometimes players with only the will give you action. And there are 15-17 cards that you dont want to see on turn.

On turn, I think I call his reraise. There are enough donks out there that will play AA, QQ, trips or a lower flush like this. And it's shorthanded. Some players think that top pair is the nuts

For some reason whenever tables go shorthanded, I get my ass kicked. Opponent held [7h].

Anyone get away from this? I really thought it looked like Aces down with the but obvoiusly i was wrong.

I probabaly would have called and lost my money here too. If you think about the hand it doesn't make any sense for any hand that beats you to have been played out this way, even in shorthanded. I realize that it is online poker and people don't always do things that make sense, but usually you can get a pretty good idea. When you revealed what the hand was, I hadn't even thought of that possibility and that almost DOES make sense, but either way, I'm losing my money, that's just how it's gonna be.

I read your post before going to sleep last night and wanted to think about it before I replied and I think I would have called here too. As it's been said I would have bet or raised that flop, I just don't like to slowplay much even with the nuts. But that being said I think once that turn hits there are still a lot of hands you beat that he could have played that way such as AA-JJ sure 1010 is a possibility but that's a chance you have to take and 99 is unlikely with the two nines on the board.

As far as him having a flush, you can rule out AKh so the only real heart hand I'm worried about is AQ. So you beat a pretty wide range of hands and only two likely holdings of his have you beat so my money is going in. For him to turn over A7 is pretty absurd but you just have to grin and bear it and take the man's money later.
