Repping the flush (50 FR)

Postby MTPaid » Wed Sep 26, 2007 4:59 pm

Both myself and opponent are full stacked. Opponent has seemed fairly tight so far, but not that many hands to get a real good read yet.

[Th][9h] CO
UTG+2 limps, MP2 raises to $2, I call, everyone else folds

[7c][8d][9c] Pot $5.25
MP2 bets $3.50, I call
I'm thinking this is a pretty normal c-bet. This is a pretty good flop for me. I may be ahead and have some decent draws. I figure that I can even rep the flush if it hits.

[4c] Pot $12.25
MP2 bets $6, I min-raise to $12, MP2 calls
I was trying to be tricky here, but he called. Right now he's got to think there is a good chance I have the flush though, correct? Along that line of thinking.....

[3d] Pot $36.25
We each have just over $30 left. MP2 checks. I could check behind here, but the only hand I beat is the lone [Ac].

What do we do here?

I think you should follow through on your bluff at the river. Push. If he's tight, he will fold. If. IF.

BTW, without a decent read here, he could be thinking, "I am never folding an overpair on any board" or even "I wonder what he has...I guess I'm beat, but I'll call with my TT."

My personal favorite though, what of course goes through the mind of 99.99% of live players..."He bluffing...I'll show him."

So, in the end...it looks like spew on the turn - minraises don't mean the same thing to you as they do to this player most likely. Raise the flop and try to take it down there IMO like Zuc said.

I only bet $20 on the river. Saved myself the last $12. If he pushed I could safely fold and if he's calling $20, he's likely calling the all-in anyway. I also figured it might look a bit more like I wanted the call than if I pushed. He folded.
