How did I do on this one?

I limp UTG with 5678 with 2 hearts to the 8. Coupla limpers, then SB and BB.

Flop comes Ks4h3s. Ok, at this table, I feel like I've been looking fairly gamey, but not unreasonably so. I just have taken several stabs and had to fold. Nonetheless, I decide to bet this one out. I have 13 straight outs, many of which are tainted by the spade draw, although I do at least have one spade in my hand.

Now, player to my left flat calls my pot bet of about $5, then full stack to his left raises pot to $24. At this point my gut is telling me that the first guy has a spade draw (possibly with some blockers to my straight) and that the raiser has KK.

While I hate to do it, I don't think it's a mistake here to fold (possibly the best play?) my hand. But I figure I do have my full 13 outs vs. KK (at least more often than not), I think there's a good chance the other player will fold, and I think I may have some implied odds the way I've been playing and the table has been reacting.

Fortunately, the other guy actually does fold here. If he didn't I think most turns that didn't make my straight would have to be check-fold under the assumption that I don't have very many actual winning outs but end up splitting some of my straight cards, etc.

But the turn card, while not making my straight, is pretty good for me, namely Th, so now I have a heart draw and am dead even with KK, which I just assume he has.

And this is actually the only interesting part of the hand, because I've been known to bet out or CRAI on that card until Monk pointed out my faulty thinking: True, I'm dead even with the set, but if I don't hit either straight or flush, I have absolutely nothing, even A-high would beat me.

So, instead I go for check-call here, which is just a way better play. After I call the $54, my opponent only has $21 left, and since he has a strong made hand, he's very likely to call that $21 on the river for a chance at $180. But if I miss, I can easily fold to that $21 since I have nothing at all.

Anyhow, river is 7c, making my straight. I bet $21, he calls and does have KK.
