Checking my spreadsheet for Cake it turns out I was nowhere near as down as I though. I't only a buy-in and a half plus about another buy-in from my Stars playing. I might be able to turn a profit sooner than I think.

Anyways tonight kinda sucked I donked off a stack early on which I got back shortly afterwards. Overall I wound up down a little over a buy-in. Here's a beauty from tonight http://cakepoker.com/HandHistory/?Hand= ... wM3Exsw%3d About the only thing that made me feel good my the end of the night is thie guy who doubled through me here managed to lose all of it while I was there. I finshed the table off about $2 away from where I was when I took the hit for a little over a stack. So to see that and win back what I lost cheered me up a little.... I mean I would've rathe have take n the guys stack in the first place but , meh.

So I've decided I'm going to focus my attention on NL games *gasp*. I was planning on having my transition to big bet poker as being PLO but... I played about 30K+ hands of the game over about 3 months (not a ton I know but I only play a fw hours a night). I started at the $10 tables and did great, up over 20 buy-ins. Moved up to the $25's and did great for about 5K hands, (got up close to $400). Then went almost straight downhill, not sure if it was a run of cards or what but lost all my profits plus another $300-ish on top. Then went back to the $10's for a while...blah, blah, blah. Long story short I'm a little worse then breakeven. I've compared my stats to PZ's we appear to have near identical numbers except when it comes to win rates so I'm kinda lost as far as analysis goes. So since I don't understand the game as much as I do Hold Em I've decided to make my splash into big bet poker into a game I understand a bit more.

I found a good link over at 4 that has quite a bit of NL info on it for micro stakes NL. So I've been going through the links and trying to absorb as much as I can. I probably won't be playing at many PT supported sites so I'll mostly be keeping track of my profit and loss to guage how I'm doing. I still think you can probably win more in PLO in todays poker environement. Maybe after I get more adjusted to big bet poker and if I'm able to be a decent winner in NL I'll explore PLO more, I like the game but I think I need a better understannig of it. Although I went through Rolf's book and Rubens and according to my results on a lot of the hand quizzes I should be a force to be reckoned with at a PLO table I feel more like a force has been reckoning with me.

So since I'm lacking PT on a lot of sites I'm planning on moving up through the ranks after winning a minimum of 15 buy-ins at each level.... Although I've heard bad things about the $50's. So we'll cross that bridge if I get to it.

So last night was my frst session since Thursday which is standard for me. I did alright finished up about a buy-in and a half. If I can keep my wits about me and not try and win every pot I enter (which used to be a bad habit) I should hopefully be able to move up to the $25's shortly.

Pretty decent night finished up a little over a stack... If I can get a few days in a row of actually booking a winning session I might stop running in place here.

Overall I think I played pretty decent, made a few dumb ass call downs, middle pair in one, pocket 9's in another against a button min raiser who hit a pair of Q's or J's o nthe flop. I timed out with KK PF in one too, there was a raise and a re-raie I was debating a shove, got in the middle of another hand and poof my hand mucked. One guy had 77, other 99, so that pretty much sucked.

Other wise just your run of the mill picking up or losing small pots here and there, type of grind. 2 decent sized pots here.

This one the guy was a total station, hated folding. He called a PF raise with 23 called a flop bet and caught running 2's on the turn and river against someone. Oddly enough my hand held, considering my luck wihth it.

This isn't usually something I do in a ring game, in fact This is probably the first time I shoved with an AK hand PF in my short NL experience. But I've seen this guy shove some pretty marginal hands. http://cakepoker.com/HandHistory/?Hand= ... wM3Exsw%3d

I've also decided to try and adopt Roy's advice for becoming a better player and put it in my sig.

Buy in's to go: 14
