I'm in Early Middle position. One limper to me..I raise $20 with [Qh]. The SB calls as does the limper. The limper is loose...but the SB is a tight player who has a big stack...and this is the first time i've actually seen him play a hand.

FLOP $64


Checked to me. I bet $50. Only the tight player in the SB calls. Limper folds out.

TURN $164


SB checks. I check.


RIVER $164


Ok. So now the flush is out...AK beats me...AQ splits, straight with JQ beats me (unlikely), set beats me, AT beats me...I beat AJ.

SB bets $130 and I fold.

Sucky. Anyone continue on the turn here or actually call this river bet? My instinct said to let it go when he check/called my big flop bet.

He didn't show.

When theres a flush draw on the board you need to bet the turn because he may well be drawing to the flush.

Depending on how tight this guy is, I would say theres a good chance he has [Kc]or [Qc]. He could also have TT.

Theres no way I would call his river bet. The only thing you beat is AJ and tight players dont call $20 with AJ.

I think he had AK, with possibly one or either the club... He was trying to let you beat yourself... He checked the flop cause he knew you'd bet... He checked the turn trying the same thing... When you checked behind, he knew he had to bet the river... You weren't playing the hand like you had a flush or QJ... I think the flush river actually killed his action, as you probably would've called a river value bet if the would've hit...

I think you are behind on the turn, a tight player is most likely not going to call with a flush draw out of position, what does a tight player call your $20 preflop raise, then calll a $50 flop bet with??? Almost nothing that you can beat after that turn card, on the river your even worse off. I think you played this ok, he might have been making a move on you, I dont know the player, but you lose this hand more times than not. This screams AK to me.
