Have to disagree, Ice. Not everybody is as smart as you are.

And obviously the AK opponent didn't figure out Jeff had AA, or he would have folded preflop!

Also, I minraise with a wide variety of hands -- everything from draws to monsters. Basically, if I don't feel like calling, I'll raise -- and half the time it's a minraise.

What I hate is the $10 bet into a $102 pot on the flop. Talk about giving someone a chance to catch a straight or a flush! I bet MP2 had a draw, and you were lucky to get raised.

I dont like the tiny flop bet either, but not because I m afrais of a straight or flush.

Remember that this guy reraised your preflop raise. Hes not going to have a 4 or 5. He cant have [Kc] because you have the . The flush draw doesnt bother me at all here.

I dont like the tiny flop bet because I want his stack if he has an ace. At least 1/2 of the time in this hand hes going to have KK, which is another reason to not reraise the min preflop. If he has KK, you just lost the chance of getting any more money from him post flop when the ace hits.

K3nt, are you telling me that you would raise to $7, get reraised to $20 and then reraise to $32 without having AA or KK? I highly doubt it. Most guys dont reraise w/o AA, KK or AK (some QQ). So you cant reraise him the min to $33 with some other hand unless the stacks are VERY deep and even then, hes liable to push all in on you preflop (since theres a very good chance HE has AA or KK).

Ive seen that exact preflop action a million times and almost every time, one of them will have AA and probably at least 1/2 the time the other guy has KK. Reraising the min to $33 just doesnt make any sense. Either let the guy think hes ahead by letting him put in the last raise...or blast him with a real 3rd raise.

The straight & flush possibility is the other guy still in the hand -- MP2. Not the preflop raiser, the apparent calling station. He could well have suited connectors in his hand.

In response to your other point, Ice: you're right. I guess I actually tend not to minraise preflop. But if I did I would probably have AA or KK. I'm tight and unfortunately pretty predictable preflop. I do raise the min postflop, though, with a variety of hands.

I didnt even notice the 3rd guy in the hand. All the more reason to get more money in preflop. And Im all in on the flop.
