Party $1/$2 NL. Via GT+ I saw that my opponent was fairly tight and passive, but not terribly rockish. I had not been involved in a hand with him yet. Does anyone stop betting and get away from my hand here, or was I doomed...or was I the fish?

sorry you lost the money but the conversation afterwords might just be worth it. I also have had the same problem recently with me being the raiser (qqs vs kks and jjs vs qq) and no aggression from the better hand so i guess i have the same question.

I think you should slow down when the turn puts another 8 out there. Theres nothing that can outdraw you really.

Either he has an overpair and your in big trouble, or he has AT and hes in big trouble. I doubt he has AQ/AK type hand and if he does he only has 6 outs.

This is a frusterating hand because if your opponant plays his hand half decently you are able to get away from your hand. Ice makes a reallly good point here, after the board makes trips on the turn the hand is pretty much over, the only real scare card that you can see on the river is an A, A/10 seems like the only hand that you could possibly have beat that your opponant is calling you with. I check the turn.

Yeah, I don't intend really to lay it down against no real pressure, but I agree with ice. I wouldn't have bet the turn so hard, and I would have checked the river.
