I think politically it's going to be hard to get support for any action against Iran, unfortunately. I think they've basically got us over a barrel and we have to grin and bear it for a few years. Unless Iran do something really stupid like attacking coalition forces in a way that's basically an overt declaration of war, I don't think the US public (or ours) have the stomach for another war, albeit one we'd pretty easily win. That said, there must be some economic ways to get at Iran, or perhaps some deniable special forces raids against specific targets on the quiet or something. I get so annoyed thinking about how badly we've screwed everything up in the middle east, it's going to take decades to sort this mess (that no-one really wanted) out
