I figured he was giving me great odds for the flush and being out of position, i took the cheap cards but its a good thing I didn't hit. How bad did I play this?

I probably wouldve done the same as you did and hated myself afterwards.

Seems like you lost about the minimum you could expect to lose QQ against KK.

I would have probably lost $10 more on the turn with his weak lead and $15 or 20 so on the river or won if he folded. I don't think the way you played it was overly bad, the A probably saved you money or could have won you the pot, but there is no way to really know.

I would have probably taken the line that would have lost me more money or forced me to fold on the turn if he pumps it up.

This is an odd hand - I was surprised to see the results. The worst thing about this hand is that you are out of position - it really limits your options.

Preflop and your bet on the flop, pretty standard. Once he min-raises you, I think you have a good enough hand to call and see the turn - not only as a draw, but to see what he does. A re-raise here doesnt accomplish much.

On the turn, I would check too, and see what he does. The $4 bet reeks of a flush draw - but how high? Its most likely the king - would he push a Jack high flush like this? I doubt it. I think you have to accept on the turn that he has the . Either fold if you think he has AK, or if you think he does not have an A to go with it - a raise is in order. Personally, I dont put him on AK, with the , he would have pushed harder on the turn. I would have put him on a KJo, KQo type of hand and raised.

I would have lost more on this hand. This hand is the exception to the rule. He just happened to have the one hand that contained the Kc, but not an A, that beat yours. More often than not, he wont have KK here.
