Ugh - fresh from releasing $300 of party bonuses in the past 2.5 weeks and making about 20PTB/100 into the bargain I made the mistake of going off to Poker Stars to play $100NL in an attempt to make some headway in to the $510 bonuses I have managed to stack up there.

I suffered the worst course of bad beats I have ever come across in my life. 3 times in a row someone hit a 3-outer on the river when I had trapped them, at least 10 times I had TT or better pair when somone else had a higher one, twice my AA went down to a set, chasers called with pot-sized overcards and hit. You know the story..

Despite going $250 down I think held my play pretty well together (I will review to check but I don't think I made any horrendous errors) and then finally went on tilt in the last 30 minutes after another raft of JJ,QQ met up with AA and KK etc..

Played 777 hands. Lost $350 (wiping out my weekly profit to date of $308) and got a measly 150 FPP's (yes that means you need to play 3100 hands of $100 NL to release 100 bonus - or 3 times as slow as Party - I think UB is actually better than this especially as you get a drip release there).

I lost the last time I played a PS too. I know how those 'Party is rigged' posts get made - I was laughing out loud as the BB's continued last night.

No poin to the post really - just a need to go back therethis weekend and make at least $50 so i don't record my first losing wek since November..

I feel your pain exession. Im in the middle of one of those streaks also. They seem to hit me for about 3 days, once a month or so.

You just have to realize its a bad luck streak and NOT TILT ANY MONEY AWAY OUT OF FRUSTRATION!!!!!

Just wanted to clarify that "worst streak of luck" and "down 3 buyins" were utterred in the same sentence.

For a tight aggressive player who puts his money in as a big favorite most of time and rarely puts in it as a dog...and rarely makes big bluffs...I think thats not an outrageous statement.
For Palman, 3 buy ins down means he has the guy right where he wants him

Just don't "play not to lose". It is nice when you have a long stretch of winning weeks, but playing just to try and get out of some self-created hole (as poker is a life long game in which you are up) isn't the best mentality to sit at a table with.

I say that, but of course I'm terrible about following that same advice myself.

Here's a good way I like to see things whenever I'm down on my luck and that basically is, is it not a "good" thing that you're suffering bad beats? Which pretty much indicates that you are always getting in with the best hands. It's been said before and I'll say it again, there is nothing, NOTHING you can do about being outdrawn. Just get your money in with the best time and time again.

I'll tell you about a horrible beat I got put on me a couple days ago. 1/2 NL PS, I limped UTG with two black Aces, an MP guy raises to 10, folds back to me, I make it 35 to go, he calls. The flop is , I lead out and bet 50, he raises all in to 130, I beat him into the pot, turn , river
I obviously win this one right? Guess again, he took my stack with fricken , can you believe that sh*t?! Oh God I was sooo mad, I did leave that table because I don't like reloading at the same table, but I just said to myself, I may have lost 180 or 200 or whatever it was on that hand, but I know I'm good enough to make it all back. Kept that confidence in myself and sure enough 2 hours later I was up $250 while multi-tabling at 3/6 lim.

Just a thought I'd share.

I busted a small portion of my roll there with flopped sets last summer... I can feel your pain, I have returned to playing there occasionally for WSOP reasons, but the cash games are so much better elsewhere I don't think I will ever play anything other than tournaments.

Three buy ins is recoverable fairly rapidly even if you step down a game to do it. I dropped three just like you last thursday, with Friday off and a short day saturday and sunday, I was back to "even" from one level down by Tuesday morning and up to profit decent profit again by the following Thursday.

rdale, are you talking about pokerstars NL $100 or $200 games?
I don't think they're that hard to beat but you do have to be more patient there than at other sites b/c people do like to trap more, that's been my experience.
