Is it illegal to hire an illegal alien?

Everything from "Whats the best place to get a sandwich at Bellagio?" to "Damn, Shana Hiatt is FINE!".

I didnt say it was.

My point is that I cant understand why its illegal to hire them (and nobody is protesting that law), but all hell is breaking loose over this new law that just overwelmingly passed in Famers Branch.

If hiring them is illegal then there shouldnt be some big constitutional challenge to this new law should there?

This is going to get off subject but the reason it could be my business who you hire or rent to is because you might hire a child molester when your business is next door to my house.

You might rent to a serial killer who just got out of jail and he doesnt like cops.

You might hire some guy who likes to whack off in front of clowns and my wife might have a second job as a clown at childrens parties.

KJ,

You may have answered my question. Im not 100% sure if your right but you could be.

However that brgins up a new point. If the government really wanted to stop illegal immigration, it would be really easy to pass a federal law making it illegal to rent to them. I cant see how that would be so horrible if its already illegal to hire them. Either we want to stop the mass illegal immigration or we dont.

Its typical of our government (Im not talking about this administration..this has been going on forever), to talk about doing something but not really trying to do it. Same thing with the war on drugs. if we REALLY wanted to stop drugs from entering the country, we could stop the vast majority of them. Politicians are all talk and no walk.

The location where someone happens to be born clearly has no bearing on how good or bad a person may be. Im not saying that.

But when they cross the border illegally, its no different than when a person commits any other crime. They are now a criminal even if they are committing the crime for the sole purpose of making their life better.

We arrest people for shoplifting every day even if its food they are stealing. If someone pumps gas and then drives off without paying, they are still a criminal even if they are only doing it because they cant get to work and wont be able to buy food for their baby if they dont.

There are alot of people in desperate circumstances and I do feel bad for them, but we still cant just let them commit crimes even if they are minor ones.

Entering the country without permission is illegal. So I dont see any reason why it shouldnt be illegal to rent to them. Renting to them is enabling the crime just like driving someone to the store so they can shoplift would be.
