Put me down as another ultimate player who sucks at disc golf. I think I need to go out in the middle of an open field somewhere and just throw as hard as I can, over and over, until I start to figure out how to make it go the direction I want. Learning it on a course is too expensive.

Yeah, it's a big difference from UF and DG. I was really good at long hammer throws (an abrupt overhand throw where the disc leaves in a vertical position, and then flips over half way through its flight and drops like a rock on a target. Really good for hitting a man behind a wall of guys.) and backhand throws, But my distance throws weren't so hot.
