Last night I decided to play some $2/$4 NL 6 max at FTP. This is the first time Ive played 6 max for stakes this high.
The avg pot is only about $40 and there are very few showdowns. The opoonent in this hand seems to be pretty tight. Hes been folding alot and seems to be pretty good. Ive seen his cards 2-3 times and havent seen anything fishy.
Ive been playing pretty tight and I probably look like a nut peddler because I havent hit a flop in a long time and ive been folding on the flop like crazy.
UTG limps. I limp with [2d]. The next guy min raises to $8. Both blinds call as do the limper so I call also.
Pot is $20. The flop comes [4s][6d]. SB checks, BB bets $25 UTG folds, I raise to $100. Its folded back the BB who calls. I really wouldve liked a fold here obviously. I havent shown strength like this since a hand about 20 mins ago which I won at the turn.
Pot is $220. The turn is the . He has $235 left and I have him covered. Check/check
Pot still $220. The river is the . BB goes all in for $235. I have the suckers end of a straight on a paired board. What do you do?

On the one hand I think either 5-6 or 5-5, the fact he only called your raise makes me think he had a bit of a hand with a draw as well, with your reraise on the flop any set or straight should go for another raise. If he noticed your tight play then surely he'd try to get it all in with the best of it.

What I do wonder is what would he expect to be called by on the river if he does have a full house? Do you think he checked to you on the turn hoping/expecting that you'd bet?

Unless he has 5-7 for the flopped straight or 7-X of diamonds for inside and flush draws I don't see how a 7 could be in his hand.

Definitely one of the most interesting hands I thought about.

I think he has an overpair to the board and put you to the test............... Then again, that overpair could be 77. I have been in the negative for 6 handed NL so I would probably chicken out expecting him to show me top straight or better.

BKAZ, thats exactly what I thought he had. An overpair like TT. I didnt think he would lead out with a set so the board pairing didnt bother me much.
The only hand that I was afraid of was 77, but why would he go all in at the river if he had 77? I showed weakness by checking the turn so he has to know Im not calling all in with a weak hand.
Alot of times when you show weakness by checking the turn, you induce a bluff.
I was pretty sure I ws ahead so I called and he had 88.
