Firefox problems with Emoticons

Postby LuparFiend » Mon May 21, 2007 7:43 am

Anyone know what is going on? With Firefox, all the Emoticons are messed up for me. When people post hands, Different cards and symbols appear than what it really is. But when I hover over the little .gif, in the lower left hand corner, it will show the correct "code" for that symbol.

For example, When I hover over the  , it says ": lol : ", but the actual picture that shows up is BlackNights avatar pic.

For :) , I see a King of diamonds.

It doesn't do this for IE on this computer. BTW, this is a brand new laptop. I'm sure it has something to do with cookies, or my cache or something.

One thing that I did do recently to firefox, was do the settings change that was spelled out in this thread for speading things up.

Maybe that has something to do with it?

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Next step: Uninstall Firefox from the Add/Remove section of the Control Panel, then install the newest version from

This should leave all cookies and cache in place.
It WILL save your bookmarks.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
