Huge flop for AK suited meets resistance (2/5 live)

Postby kennyg » Sat May 05, 2007 7:47 am

2/5 live

I have about 1k and am covered.

I raise [As][Ks] out of the blinds to $25. Two callers.

FLOP$75
[Kh][Qs][6s]

I bet $50. UTG+1 (Asian kid) min raises to $100. This is the second hand I've seen him play in about the 2 hours he's sat down. I decide to only call since:
A. He might have a lower flush draw which is wonderful and I want to let him get there
B. I only think he calls a reraise if he has me beat
C. I don't want him to fold weaker hands

TURN$ 275
[Kh][Qs][6s] [2d]

I check.. he bets $200 and seems decently strong. I actually considered folding and then thought better of it :) I call.

RIVER $675
[Kh][Qs][6s] [2d] [Kd]

I have $600 or $700 left.... my action?

Thoughts on other streets welcome.

I would probably check/call in the heat of the moment, but I think shoving is probably better.

With the flop being KQ6 the chances of the guy having a set is much smaller, the only realistic set to put him on is sixes. I think this is a check call, this hand really does smell like a set of 6's like ED said but he could also easily have some kind of big draw [Js] [Ts], [Js] [9s], or [9s] [Ts].
