I originally called because so many people called so I was looking for a good drawing flop. I decided to bet out to see where I was. The raiser was loose and pretty aggressive preflop so he doesn't necessarily have a good hand.

When he didn't bet the turn, I went for a value bet on the river. Bad idea? check and induce a bluff thinking to call a reasonable bet?

I would definitely check the river to induce a bluff. $7 is not enough to fold anything, and he won't call unless you're beat. Plus the only obvious drawing hand just got there. No value in this value bet (sorry, always wanted to say that).

Lay... excuse me for being dumb but what obvious drawing hand comes from ??? Is this an Omaha H/L post...?

If you check this river, he's gonna bet, and you're gonna fold, thinking he may have an Ace weak...

JT/s. If he's loose-aggressive pf, this is a definite possibility (JT being what I call a 'WPT' hand).

JTs is a powerful drawing hand... the most powerful IMO. I wouldn't play it for a raise because you want people in the pot but I rank it up higher than Sklansky hand groupings when I decide to play it
