The plot was exactly as the graphic novel was. Which was relatively close to what actually happend. That's like saying the plot of the Titanic was awful and it shouldn't have sank at the end (sort of. A bit of a stretch, but you get the idea).
Feel free to hate on the acting though (although personally I don't completely agree).

As most people said, the fight scenes were cool, but it was just too much like watching the Chippendales fight...
Also, I kept waiting for Xerxes to throw out his arms or breath fire etc...
And the whole scene w/ the hunchback dood was just retarded... "my father was a Spartan, he taught me everything I need to know to fight... I just want to fight for you and die for you.." "No"...
