Governator vs Rush

Limbaugh has been critising Arnold lately for sellling out. In an interview recently Arnold said that Rush was "irrelevant" Arnold went onto to Rush today to discuss some of his proposals, including his health care initiative. I thought he did a very good job, and it iwill be interesting to see how it works out. Sounds somewhat like Mitt's plan that has been reasonably successful.

Arnold's philosophy is that people are already getting free health care through emergency rooms so why not see if California can provide it more cheaply and efficiently. I really fear a completely govenrmental based system like Canada and GB, so these ideas intrigue me.

Because Canada and the UK (not "GB") are Commie bastards, and every time Beavis goes to bed he checks underneath it for Reds.

Americans are terrified of socialized medicine, but when they turn 65, they immediately sign up for Medicare. Gosh, I'd sure hate to see the look on their faces when they realized it's health care controlled by the government.

Doctors and insurance companies hate Medicare. Because it's the best-run system of health care in the world with an overhead of 3% vs 27% for insurance companies.

What a concept. Universal coverage for everyone...who is over 65.

We're such a bunch of morons in this country.

Medicare undercompensates doctors, that is why they hated it.

Canadians routinely come to the US to get simple procedures like MRIs done in a timely manner. (at least that happened in the mid 90s when I was in Bellingham).

I "fear" the govement provided systems because you have to use the government systems and cannot get your own coverage. Everyone is shoved into a one size fits all system and that leads to shortages. If everything in US was ran like medicare there were be serious degradation of available services.

I am very happy with the coverage I am able to provide my family and I dont want that taken away.

Beavis, there's nothing to stop UK citizens from paying for private healthcare. In fact, quite a few employers offer it to employees as a job perk.

In other words...status quo.

Yeah, right. That will fix it.
