Hey guys, something weird went down with me while I was at Best Buy earlier tonight.
I had ordered a $1000 gift card and made some purchases in the last two months with the card, including a couple monitors for my laptop and some DVDs and also made a few returns that involved the card as well.
Today I purchased a DVD player and some DVDs. The total came to about $320. I knew for sure I had $400 on my card, however, it said my balance was only 187.xx and I ended up paying the balance myself.
I phone the customer helpline on the back and they repeat all the transactions I have done. They said there was a transaction for $214 on March 17th. I know for a fact that I had my wallet with me the entire time that day and that I did not step near a BestBuy.
Is it possible that my card got skimmed by a Best Buy customer service employee? None of my friends or family even know I carry the card in my wallet, let alone know what it looks like. Oh ya, the service lady on the phone also said that they don't keep records on what items were actually purchased and that maybe the store service desk will have those records.
I'm real confused as to what to do. Can anyone give me any ideas out there??
