Opponent seems to be ok, reasonably aggro. There was no crazy 3 bet dynamics, but better players 3bet each other several times. He got his big stack by marginally VB calling station who is on the table.

I have 800 he covers.

Preflop: UTG raises to 22, I reraise to 66 with on CO, all fold he calls after some thoughts.

Flop (130):
UTG checks, I check.

Turn (130):
UTG bets 92, I call.

River (322):
UTG bets 230, ... call or fold?

Thoughts on other streets?

Tough spot. With the check on the flop, you've basically announced your hand - I mean, you probably don't check a set like ever on that flop.

If you check the flop, I think you should just fold the turn when he bets, unless he is the type that will bluff the turn, but be unable to pull the trigger on the river.

As played, call river, I guess b/c nothing has really changed from the turn or the flop, and you have possibly induced a bluff (which I assume was part of the flop check, along with pot control).


Next time, I would just grit my teeth and bet, that being the last $ I put in the pot UI.

Thanks, I felt that my hand was transparrent, but I still called and he showed me 55.
I am not sure if it was a good or bad play by my opponent, but surely it could be hard to play with him in the future.
