Quick Computer Question???

Postby Johnny Hughes » Mon Mar 12, 2007 8:52 am

My computer has been running very slowly. A couple of the keys were slow or sticking. I was about to send it for a new keyboard. However, one guy turned me on to Memorex AirDuster which blows the dust out of the keys. It worked. My whole computer seems to me to be running very fast, as fast as when it was new. It was dumb of me not to know about AirDuster since I live in a small dusty West Texas town.

Is that whole speed up caused by the AirDuster?

cleaning the keyboard will have no affect on your computer except that the keys wont stick.

My best thanks to Phish and Snowman. It is o.k. I have been posting a Poker History series over at Two Plus Two, News, Views, Gossip section, to see the reaction. This is still my favorite site.

There's Beavis (Was Butthead taken?}, MecosMoron, and GodPityRoy.

One hates his parents, one has hallucinations, and the other never understands my posts any way. I tossed them a lob, however the computer is speeding so much I love to type.

I've been winning from these type whiners for half a century. I did it again today. Their whining is music to my ears, off-keysucker whining. Learn to love it.

There are some easy ways to speed up your comp a little which doesn't require any expert knowledge.

1. Remove bots/spyware etc.
Download AdAware (free at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ ), install and run it. It is pretty self explanatory.

2. Delete unused crap, registry keys etc.
Download crapcleaner ( free at http://www.ccleaner.com/ ) install and run it. You're given an option to make backups of all your keys before cleaning so no worries there.

3. Defrag
If you right-click your hard drive in windows (the disc symbol that says "C:") and chose "tools", there's a defrag option. Turn that on before you go to bed (it will take hours) and the computer will do some internal organising that will help speed it up. You can't do anything else while it does this so do it before you got to sleep.

4. Eat plenty of fiber ;)

Lollerskates...You guys are a little uptight maybe.

This is the first time ive *ever* talked to this person, and my insult is saying "is this guy for real" after he wonders if cleaning a keyboard with make his computer faster, and I get "respect your elders". Thanks for the advice guys. Ban me please.

Dood dont worry about it... Johnny was a brokeback cowboy long before the Academy acknowledged that this was an acceptible thing- A pioneer. Respect that- youd be uptight too if you spend 30 years in love with your best male friend, knowing that if he ever caught you starin at his arse while he was bendin over to pickup stuff that you dropped on purpose just so you could grab an eyeful for the spankbank, that you'd get strungup with all the black people. It was not an easy life for him in texas back in them days, and strong men also cry, guys..strong...men...also...cry. So try n layoff johnnyplz...
