Prolonging the life of your laptop's HD

Postby NorthView » Mon Feb 26, 2007 4:08 am

A guy I work with swears that removing the battery from his laptop (as it's only ever using mains anyway) helps reduce heat substantially, and means he gets longer life/greater reliability from his hard disk.

Dunno about hard drive but a guy i know claims it helps prolong the battery's life since the power isnt cycling through it even when you're hooked to an outlet.
