I figured out the key to the doom switch, and it has nothing to do with withdr3walling
When you first get a bonus, they let you run hot - it helps to wait until late in the bonus window to start playing so you dont get too many competing players at a table.
But at the bonus nears completion, they trip the doom switch on you, and it stays doomed until the next bonus.

They always flick the Doomswitch on me when I'm close to finishing a bonus.
The old "I only needed 87 more hands to clear the $100 bonus and lost $480 doing it" story. Happened to me a ton of times.

...I'll say that it never happens to me cuz I don't play with an eye to bonus, I play on networks that I know I can be a winning player on WITHOUT bonus, and the bonus just pads my pocket...I think a lot of these 'curses' happen when people either aren't winning players to begin with, or play on sites with insufficient traffic or radically incompatible opposition to show a profit.
