I have a general idea of how to do this, but would like to see how you guys pull it off and your situational requirements for when/where to do it. Thanks.

I think it is most effective when used against weak opponents that will bluff and shut it down when you hold a medium strength hand or no hand in a pot that they raised with what you suspect is AK. Or against very aggressive when you are out of position with a strong hand and you think they will go ape against your lead at the turn. I sometimes take this line but mostly do not with out one of those two special reasons. About the only other time I do a stop and go is when the turn made my hand, or I want to appear that it did.

It can be a highly effective move in a lot of situations. I don't feel like trying to make up a hand to try to explain so if I happen to use a stop-n-go while I'm playing I will post the hand and my reasoning behind it.

Heres a hand from today. $1/$2NL. Villian is the mother of all rocks. His VIP% is 8%. He will not play a hand unless its a pair or AK. He MIGHT limp in with AQs if hes in LP. He is a slight winner because people are dumb enough to pay off his sets, but he doesnt win much.

I limp [Qh] UTG, He raises to $7. I cant remember the last time he raised that small so it thru me off. He always raises to $15 with QQ,JJ and makes a normal raise with AA or KK.

So I call and we're heads up. The flop is [Ts][6d]. I check and he bets $15 which I call.

Pot is now $47. The turn is the . I check and he bets $15 again. I check raise to $45. Would you use the stop and go here to represent the flush? If I lead, he folds most times (unless he has a flush or wants to chase the bare ), If I check raise I get money from him plus its much more believeable that I have a flush when I commit more money like this.

This is one time Ive seen people use the stop N go, but I still dont like it here.

I don't like the stop-n-go on that turn, but if the turn was an offsuit ace, I would definately like it. You can't build a big pot by checking, and the ace could easily have helped him, which would be a good spot to bet and hope to get raised so you can win a big pot.
