$40 NL, $1/1 blinds.

Hand #1:

22 in MP, with a $50 stack. 1 limper before me, I limp, cutoff limps, button raises to $3, folding the blinds. The rest of us call.

Flop is [4c][2d].

1st limper bets out $5. He's very loose preflop, but knows what he's doing and isn't one to bluff a large field. I call (pretty sure I should have raised here), everyone else folds.

Turn is .

He goes all in, and has me covered. It's $42 to win $64. I think he has me on the flush draw, but I'm worried about the straight or a better set (which is why I just called on the flop). Call or fold?

Hand #2:

[Tc] in the SB with a $60 stack. 2 limpers and the BB and I check.

Flop is [9c][8s].

Nice -- flopped the straight. Pot is $4, I bet $5. 1 caller (also very loose -- called with 77 preflop on an earlier all in of mine, despite the fact that I had raised and then reraised a short stack's all in).

Turn is .

Pot is $14, I bet $15. He calls without much hesitation.

River is .

I check, he goes all in and has me covered. It's $40 to win $80. Call or fold? Should I have played the turn or river differently?

I am only an amateur, not a pro by any means, but here is my advice:
Hand one: In my opinion, his $5 bet on the flop, says overpair/fear of a made set. When you just called, he put you on A+5 or A+4 or A+2, and when the 10 hit on the turn, I suspect he made his set of 10s.
I think you should have raised his flop bet to total pot(counting his 5), or even bigger.
announcing your set might have pushed him off his over cards.
"Call or fold?" at this point I suspect you are beat, or he thinks he has you beat.
I would fold.

Hand two: Again I think you under bet the flop, 20% larger than pot, at a very loose player will not tell him that he should not chase his flush.
Make them pay to chase!
Even if he did not have the flush, K Q is not out of the question.

Hand #1: I call. You have a very well masked hand here...he probably wants to make sure when he thinks he is ahead, he gets his money in. It would look to most people here like you are on a draw w/ the flop call. I think he has an overpair and you call b/c you are 95% to win from this spot if he does.

Hand#2: I fold. When the flush hits, you are probably calling for at most a tie here, and maybe a loss. I don't think on this board anyone pushes all in w/ a hand lower than a straight. I think you bet it right on both streets though, especially the turn. He did not have odds to draw to a flush, but if he got there I wouldn't pay him off. Just wait for a better opportunity; he'll give you one, believe me.

Hand #1, I would NOT raise that flop. Im not woried about draw yet and Im hoping that the preflop raiser behind me will raise. No way Im folding that hand at the turn. Hes making a large bet because hes afraid of the draws. You cant fold a set in a raised pot with that board. Unraised pot is a different question all together. He might be a moron and have A3 but I highly doubt it.

Hand #2..This is one is based on your read. I keep notes on all known flush chasers. You know the guys who play J4s and chase with bad odds. If hes one of these guys I fold with no hesitation. Actually I fold against most people now that I think more about it. Get him next time. Your flop and turn play is fine. He could be making a play on you because no way hes putting you on a straight, but I still let him have it this time.

If he called all in with 77 in that other hand, hes probably a moron flush chaser also.

Hand #1 I agonized over, and ended up folding. MUB syndrome, I guess. He showed me [4d], so he was taking a stab at it on the flop, and hit two pair on the turn. That's a good point about the preflop raiser Iceman -- I wasn't even thinking about that.

Hand #2 I folded pretty quickly, given how fast he called the turn. Later when we were talking I asked him about it, but he didn't seem to remember the hand, and said he thought he had the straight. I think he probably would have raised the turn with the straight, so I'm not so sure. I like low dough's advice to overbet the pot against looser players. They're not really thinking about the odds, so might as well charge them more.
