Effective interrogation techniques (interview link)

A really, really interesting interview about interrogation techniques. The interviewer is Hugh Hewitt, one of the most right-wing guys on the political scene. The interviewee is an army colonel (retired) with decades of experience doing interrogations, all the way back to Vietnam.

A part of what I took away from this was that the expert interviewee thinks that "24" is 100% wrong and counterproductive. Nobody in the real world ever gets useful intelligence the way Jack Bauer does.

But there's a lot more to it than that. The interview has a ton of interesting information that I never heard of before. Definitely worth reading.

I'm guessing Hewitt is thinking about Jose Padilla in that "dirty bomb" thing. Hewitt tends to think that being accused of something terrorist-related = being guilty of it.
