So seriously, maybe it is just me?

Postby Twelver » Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:10 pm

If any of you read my journal you all know that I moved back down to $100 tables even though I am way over rolled for it to try and get out of this funk that I am in. It seems it doesn't really matter what stakes I play I can't win. Dropped 6.5 buyins last night in 1200 hands. I thought I was playing fairly well, and I didn't feel like I was tilting. Here are all the hands from last night where more than half my stack was in the pot and I lost. BTP...fix my leaks!

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813188. I mean I guess I could have folded to that pissy little min raise on the turn, but damn that seemes weak tight.

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813386. Am I ever getting away from this one?

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813394. I don't know what to say about this one...It was pretty shitty.

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813554. This 1 I was kind of meh...I had a really hard tome putting him on a 6 unless he held exactly 66, and I was willing to take my chances that he didn't, but I don't know, maybe he doesnt bet that river unless he has a 6 like always?

Hand 5: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813404 This is another one with a little ass min raise on the flop...I don't see myself just folding there, and when the Q hits on the turn, then I just couldnt let it go.

Hand 6: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813597, This one I need to be flamed on, its so obvious that I should either bet/fold or check/call that river.

Hand 7: http://www.pokerhand.org/?813415. I fired the 2nd barrell, just b/c I though he might be floating me on that flop, and then when the K came on the river, looked like an excellent card to bluff at again. Meh.

I think that was all of the big ones. Please flame away and don't be gentle.

Hand 1: Observe Baluga Whale Theory: if you raise PF, bet the flop and get called, bet the turn and are raised, your one pair hand is no good.

Hand 2: Fine. Life is shit sometimes.

Hand 3: There's a good chance he's got the Ah so I'm raising the flop, not that it would've made any difference to the outcome. Life is shit sometimes.

Hand 5: I'm not getting away from top 2 there. Good news is you only lost 1/2 stack there. Make a note that he MRs the flop with a set, and that life is shit sometimes.

Hand 6: You don't have 3 streets of value with bottom 2 when the flush card hits. Check/calling the river may induce a bluff from hands you beat, while keeping your losses down. Youre on a downswing so even more need to cut out the FPS as you're in tilt vulnerable mode. Consider yourself bollocked.

Hand 7: I don't 3 street bluff at 100NL and I wouldn't even consider it unless he's the weakest of tightest.

Ride the storm - you're way overrolled, so forget the beats and carry on.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

Most players can't get away from it. I know I usually can't. But a miniraise on the turn IS a monster 99% of the time so I guess you should be able to fold here.

#2
I have no problem with the way you played it, plenty of outs.

#3
This one I think you played pretty badly. Are you hoping that the preflop raiser will raise so you can three-bet? I think just raising the flop is the way to play this. As played, I probably check behind on the river. Are you betting for value or as a bluff?

#4
I think this link is wrong.

#5
Well personally I CRAI on that turn and lose my whole stack, so I guess you played it better losing the minimum (unless you're willing to fold to the flop miniraise)

#6
Link not working

#7
I think this is bad and your "story" doesn't really make sense so I don't mind his call. If you had AK and had fired two barrels with Ace high, I would expect you to check behind on that river. I think you should use your position and check behind either on the turn or the river. Your hand has some showdown value, use that and position.

All in all it looks like you make a couple of mistakes, but a lot of these losses is just variance, not that it's not always good to plug leaks.

#3 is the only one that made me say YUCK out loud. I would check behind on the river with a double paired board.

Welcome to the playing $100 NL massively overrolled club. I did not read the other post, but......

Hand #1) Fold to the raise, people are not gonna stack off if they can't beat AK there (which is effectively what you have).

Hand #2) Call the min-raise, you have the best draw and probably the best hand, no reason to get it in behind or let him off too cheaply.

Hand #3) I'd raise the flop and hope he shoves with the [Ah], but yeah that river play is horrible.

Hand #4) Fine.

Hand #5) Check-raise the turn and try to get it in. You're gonna feel like a silly goose is he has hearts or 56 and draws out on you.

Hand 6 won't open

Hand 7) Bad board to double barrel, especially since your weakass bet doesn't even fold out a draw. River I would triple barrel if I double barreled the flop as well most of the time.
Hand #6)
The better player should win the race. Always.
