Heads up hand

Postby iceman5 » Mon Feb 05, 2007 10:35 am

$1/$2 NL heads up

Villain is very mediocre.

I raise $7 with [5c][5s]. He calls. Hes calling a few too many of my raises than he should be.

Pot $14. Flop [Ad][Qs][Kd]. He checks, I bet $11 and he calls.
Pot $36. Turn [5d]. He has $122 left. What would you do? Ignore the flush and pound away?

Heads up I don't think you should worry too much about the flush or straight, he's more likely to have an Ace, pair or two-pair. Still, checking might be the best play because if you bet and he pushes (which would be a reasonable raise with a flush/straight) then what? And if the board pairs on the river and happens to give him trips (or if he was slowplaying a straight/flush), you'll stack him (unless he gets a higher boat of course).

I'd probably check it and then gnash my teeth when the river is the [Td].

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

I like the bet on the turn and I also call the raise. Barring a 4th diamond I probably call the river.
