Thanks for the comments, I shall be more careful in this situation in future.

I think my biggest weakness right now is not giving enough thought to the hand range of my opponent, and how many of those hands I can beat.

*** SHOW DOWN ***
SB: shows [9s 8s] (a flush, King high)
Hero: mucks hand
SB collected $46.85 from pot

as others have asked, what exactly do you beat here?

a lag very well may be pushing you off the better hand, but a good lag will either have you as a marginal favorite or a HUGE dog.

trying to out-lag a lag at these stakes is silly, imo. if you think yhig, just let them bet into you. imo, you can profitably get into this kind of high-level gamesmanship at higher levels, but at the 25s?

It's strange that no one mentioned it, but IMO you should have folded preflop. KQo is a bad hand to call a 3bet, it's too likely that you will be dominated by AK, AQ, KK, QQ, while you very rarely dominate your opponent hand.

I'd rather have a hand like 75s when I choose to call a reraise than KQo.

6 handed on a $25 table you should not fold KQo in MP IMHO - though it starts to become a good idea at $200 and up

if you aren't comfortable raising it then just limp it -if a tightish player raises behind you can dump it no problem - if there are no raises behind it figures to be good if it hits either K or Q on flop - if there is a raise from a loose player behind you you can form a view when it gets back to you ...

May be I was unclear. Preflop raise with KQo is fine, calling a 3bet with it is not good at all.
