Let me tell you from experience that the "cutting down" idea generally doesn't work out as well as you plan. But good luck to you if and when you decide to quit.

Hardest thing I've ever done in my life was quitting the smokes. +30 years. The last cig I had was before I got on the plane to come to Vegas. Almost 9 months and counting, and I'll never, ever smoke again. Too damned hard to quit.

Now, if I can kick the gum.

Just keep trying. Someday you'll do it. It's so effin' hard.

Reading about and/or talking to people trying to quit smoking makes me kind of want to get addicted to them, and then try to quit. It's so amazing to me that it can be so hard. I feel like I could quit cold turkey no problem, however when talking to other people about it it becomes apparent that this probably isn't the case. But I'm probably a more strong minded person with more willpower then all of you bitches.
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.

LMFAO you haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about. Nicotine is roughly as addictive as heroin.

I was able to quit about four months ago when my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin for me. That stuff was very good about taking the edge off of the cravings. It didn't make the cravings disappear, but it made them easier to get through. It wasn't easy by any means.

I made previous attempts to quit by using the patch, just going cold turkey, doing the laser treatment. Nothing worked. But the Wellbutrin did.

I have been a non smoker for 2-3 years now. Before that i smoked for 3 years and was smoke free for the 7 years or so before that. Prior to that I smoked for a few years.

The first time I quit I did so cold turkey and was a raving maniac for 6 months. I carried a pen around with me and 'smoked it' constantly to keep my hands and mouth busy.

The last time I quit it took me like 30 tries. I quit for periods of hours to a few days or so many times. Eventually I took wellbutrin and it really helped get rid of the cravings.
I also have pretty bad asthma which the smoking brought back so had much more motivation via pain and discomfort than the average person trying to quit.

I am also 5k a year richer for being a non smoker which is pretty cool. The struggle to quit is worth it.
If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid.
