I've been running pretty horrible lately and pretty much expect the worse whenever my opponent actually still has 2 cards. I've been trying to force myself to still play well, but on this particular hand I had a read, a pretty easy one, followed it, but then the flop camne horrible for my Aces.

I've NEVER tried this before because I'm usually so afraid of letting them see the flop. However here I opened in MP1 w/ [Ac] for $2. MP2 (21/8/13 - 130 hands) re-raises to $7.

Usually I'll just push this hand. I was pretty sure he had Kings and would have called the push anyway, but just in case he has something less and could fold, I figured I would just call and let him hang himself on the flop and then check-raise.

Well EFF me again. Really are monsters under my bed I guess. So now what? Lead out and fold to a raise? Check/call? Check/fold even? Or am I just paranoid and I should still c/r all-in?

So I'm definitely thinking pocket Kings and I check. He bets $9. His bet throws me off and I start thinking AK or QQ. Then I quickly think that I would check AK here too. Against me I would at least because I'm not calling that big a re-raise (1/6 of his stack preflop) with anything but AK or a big pair. So there is no draw to really be afraid of and if he has AK either I'm drawing to a set or he's already dead so why bet?

So now I'm really confused and decide to min-c/r so I can still get away from it if he pushes. He bets $9, I re-raise to $18 and he pushes for $36. Now what does he have?

BIG monsters under the bed...CRAI and expect to see AK/QQ/JJ take this line. Sure he can have KK, but that's a pretty good flop for you.

At $50 NL FR, 99% of the players are unimaginative. At least they were when I played there, maybe things have loosened up and gone crazy like they have in 6-max recently with a ton of 3-bets preflop.

But if 50 NL FR is still as unimaginative as I remember ... and if his pfr is only 8 and he reraises you ... sitting in the seat immediately behind you ... with tons of players yet to act, he has a very very big hand. KK 80% QQ 10% AK 5% JJ 5%. Just push preflop.

Especially push preflop because two bad things can happen with a call preflop: an ace can flop and he'll fold the flop, or a king can flop and you will have a very hard time folding the flop even though you're 80% sure you're behind. Gross.

So I have my curser hovering over the fold button, but quickly convince myself it was AK and call. It was KK of course. Kent's right and that's what I said to myself after the hand. With KK he would have called anyway and if I did magically flop a set, he could have gotten away from it.
