Gun rights is as cut and dry as every other right- the only thing is that the constitution only applies to the federal government, which means that states CAN take your guns away if they want- in fact, local governments can ban guns altogether if they want to im pretty sure, without having a 2nd amendment problem - Im not gonna go into the reasons for this, but almost everything in the bill of rights has been said to apply to state and local governments too, and one of the few things that hasnt is the 2nd amendment, which is why you have such disparate gun control laws. Youll notice also that the consitution grants you the right to a jury trial in everything over like $20 or something, and also entitles you to a grand jury in criminal matters (i think?), and those dont apply to states either. I dunno if i agree with the treatment that the second amendment has gotten, but meh...thats how it is...

WOW. I am just reading the OP and WOW. This HAS to be the most stupid administration ever or the USA wouldnt be what it is now. Not with more than one of this... What a bright attorney general!
