woops got lucky $200 6max

Postby High Wired » Tue Jan 23, 2007 1:49 pm

villian was a gambler... 38/14/1.75 and he raised frequently PF. I was running at 25/20/2.

I felt like 3 betting light on the button to mix it up.

Villian had $230 and I covered.

PF villian raises to $7 UTG, folded to me, and I 3bet to $24 OTB with Q[h] 9[h], villian calls.

Flop ($51) J[s] 2[d] 5[h]

Villian hesitated on the flop like ~3 secs before checking, I CB $38, and villian thinks for a few seconds and calls.

Turn ($127) A[h]

Villian now quick checks. I hesitate for a few seconds, ready to give up a hand gone wrong, and check behind.

River ($127) 3[h]

Bingo! At this point I definately remember exclaiming outloud :)

Villian checks again. I thought for a couple seconds and bet $103.

Who likes my line? What's villian have to have to call this? Thoughts on villian's range?

You said this guy is a gambler what exactly does that mean, did he push a draw or call allin with a draw? The real question here is do you think you can get him to fold a jack, what is his went to SD%? If you think he can fold a hand this is absolutely the perfect semibluff card unless he has AJ the ace likely didnt help him and it looks like you might have just gotten lucky and sucked out on his J on the turn. If your read is he wont fold a jack then I like the check behind but against most decent players I bet this turn. I also didnt see it before but there is also and outside chance that he has 43 and the ace made his OOSD.
