KJs in 50$ NL full ring against donk

Postby Jossnaz » Mon Jan 22, 2007 1:47 pm

Hi

Villain is a true donk and got position on me. He had luck lately

My player note on him is
"
called from SB with J8s and called with middle pair flop. FLushdraw on turn he called pot. Half pot on river with middle pair low kicker, he called"

His stack is about 22 dollars and i have 50

Raise preflop?
What betsize on turn

[Kc] [Jc]

I limp with 4 others
Villain sits OTB thinks............... and limps

flop (3 dollars)

[Td] [Js] [6c]

checked to me
I bet 3 dollars
everybody except villain folds who quickly calls.

turn (9 dollars)
[3c]
I lead 5 dollars (which i guess was my mistake, what would you bet there? Gave villain feeling I may be only on flushdraw)
Villain thinks 2 seconds and calls

river (19 dollars)
[2h]
I check
Villain thinks and raises 12 dollars all in.

I fold

I can't really tell what position you're in from your post so it's tough to say if you should raise PF, but assuming you're in EP, I don't mind the limp, I don't play FR anymore but this is probly pretty standard. The way you described how the hand went down, I don't have a problem with the way you played the flop and turn and river, up until the point where you fold. If you're going to check you've got to know that you're inducing a bluff and be prepared to call I think. I'd either check/call his all-in, or value bet/call his all-in. Either way, if he wants to get that money in, you're probly going to have to call here. Considering you were OOP, another way to play this might be for you to CRAI on the turn.

horrible poker4ever not supporting converting hands

i wasn't in EP, i played late position seated on place 7, only 3 seats to my left

well the check on river combined with the flushdraw bet in turn may look like a bluff... but why in god's name would you raise all in if you're sure villain is bluffing?

Would you call even if villain is a regular?

Against a shorty donk that river is an autocall. You induced, now call. With a set or 2 pair or whatever he would value bet less than that most of the time.
