No-one here is actively encouraging it - it's just that it's not a banning offence.

We stop posts that encourage cheating or criminal activity (for example use of bots or experimentation with hard drugs). That said, as the US DOJ consider just about all online gaming (including poker) to be criminal all US players are in a grey area, 17 or not.

This one was close to the line which is why the mods discussed it. The consensus was not to actively encourage but not to ban.

As for giving ammunition to the anti-poker lobby, they seem to have managed quite well basing their argument on 'protect the adults from themselves' without needing to drag the under 18's into it.
