I only considered pushing or making some other size raise. I did not seriously consider calling, as I couldn't think of any cards I'd like to see on the turn with such a huge pot. So I raised the $95 bet to $300. Here's the logic:
Both players were smart enough to know I'm tight and if I raise this pot, I'm not f'ing around. I have a real hand, likely an overpair. Nobody folds overpairs on boards like that, so they also think/know I'm committed. They are both getting OK immediate odds to chase a flush or straight (about 4:1), but they also know that my remaining $400 behind is going in the middle on the turn, or it isn't because the draw hit. Goodbye implied odds. Yes, both players are thinking this, despite their mediocrity/insanity. LA breeds an odd kind of bad player- they typically have experience and know how to play both bad and good.
Had one of them pushed I would have reevaluated depending on which one of them it was, whatever read I might pick up, etc. I might call the push and I might not. I'm more than capable of folding here and saving my last $400, since if one of them pushes it's nearly a guarantee that I'm behind.
Mr. A8o insta-folded with a look of disgust (he was apparently just trying to make a cheap play at a big pot), and the straddler started doing the math in his head and ultimately folded too. Score one for the good guys.
