Round 6 (or is it 7?)

Well, it took about five months to get the next 1k posts.... shocking, really.

The good news:

- I've made a lot of progress on my dissertation.

- The job in CA is just waiting on some rubber stamping (or so they say).

- FTP plo8 is j-u-i-c-y.

- MVP will soon = free digs in LV!!!!

- I somehow surpassed Briacheck for #3 in posts at BTP. I never thought this would happen. I really, really never think that I'll pass MVP or Iceman. Furthermore, I think Bri may pass me soon, and Xas will inevitably make a bajillion posts since he has nothing better to do (move to LV, you twit!)

- This new emoticon is imminent: Image

The bad news:

- I went on a massive cooler at the 1000plo8 tables to the point that I had to move down and regroup, and then...

- Party shuts it's doors to US customers. Actually, I could still theoretically play at Party (I live in Japan but used my US address to sign-up), but there's really very little reason to at this point, imo. And then....

- While the dust was settling, I manage to tilt away $500 on LHE, PLO, and LO8 playing like an absolute donkey while also getting cold-decked (top boat into quads in LHE on top of getting rivered by 5-outers or less no fewer than one million times). I condemned myself to 100plo8 or lower while I earned it back as "punishment".

- Dissertation shit takes A LONG time. I'm ready to be done with it.

- The job in CA (a US gov job) has taken a ridiculously long time to process. They told me they wanted to hire me in mid-October, but some centralized resume processing center problems and several layers of management have slowed this down to a snail's pace. This may actually be a blessing in disguise since a fast-track job change would have made my life miserable in the short-term.

- My wife was NOT hired for the position she wanted at the same US gov location, but she can get a different one really easily.

- My wife's mother had a cancer relapse (lymphoma) and is undergoing chemo... while she (my mother-in-law) is also trying to divorce her husband... and get rid of her mooching son. My wife is helping, but it's incredibly stressful on her, and I can only give moral support. The good thing is that my wife and I are tite, and in an ironic way, this adversity is bringing us even closer together.

Anyway, I've got to get to bed. See you at 7k.
