I had been very active 3 handed and getting the best of it usually. My spidey senses were telling me that this guy was getting sick of my shit. Turn call and river play are marginal. Thoughts on both streets?

unless you can specifcally put him on nothing you're putting yourself in a horrible spot calling. if you raise the turn you can get him to fold out all the low pair hands etc.

i understand your thinking of him drawing slim and you getting an extra bet on the river.. but your read has to be razor sharp to KNOW he has exactly nothing. if he has a pair of 4's or something you're screwed (assuming the river bricks.)

because the river becomes so marginal i think you're better long term EV move would be to raise the turn and take it away from hands beating you, rather than trying to draw value by calling the turn and river with ace high, hoping it's good at showdown.

I like the river considering your image etc. Dunno about turn, though I see your reasoning... Do villans float more often with pocket pairs on this rag flop and give up overcards? In which case 2 barreling would be better than check calling.

Kent: I think its to do with frequencies. Xas cannot do this move with just set or better.. he gets more +ev if he has a small % of bluffs here also, or tptk etc.

This is why Ive started 2 barreling more (and rarely 3 barreling) cos I'm sure I was 2barreling way below the optimum frequency previously.
