You can get podcasts through the iTunes Music Store - they're all free (or all the ones I've ever seen), and easy to subscribe to. I'm looking at the HSP one right now - looks like it's only 5 "episodes", but each episode is only a single hand - they're around a minute-and-a-half long.

Don't know about DVD's, as I don't have the video iPod.

No problem putting MP3's on there - just import them into iTunes and sync them up with your iPod.

Nano is too damn small for my tastes. I dunno, my brother has a video and I like it enough.

I picked it up, plugged it in, and it just started taking care of itself. I probably should have assumed a 5 year old actually could work it since it's an apple product, but meh.

Anyway, whenever I plugged the thing it, it told me 70some of my ~1k songs weren't the proper format. I double checked and they are mp3 files just like everything else. Some of them I have ripped from CDs I own, some of them I got other places (ahem). Anyone know whats up?

Then just put your mp3's into itunes. Besides I thought if you are putting in stuff that isn't in itunes you needed to turn on disk mode. And I didn't think it would autoimport if your ipod was set to disk mode.
