I'm not sure why, but when he donked the flop my immediate thought was - "he's got a smaller Ace". His PFR that session (31 hands) was 25%, so I'd expect him to cap AK and any big PP. I didn't want to raise because there is a small chance his smaller Ace was suited in hearts, but once I called the flop bet I was mentally committed to showing down.

So, is this a good spot for an A-high calldown? On the river, I could have raised, but I don't think I could have folded to a 3-bet, so I just called.

I'm not a fan either. I'd probably take Ant's line here if I wanted to get to the SD. I'd pop the flop and see how he reacts. Hopefully that buys us a free card on the turn and we can call/raise a river bet here if he leads. On the flop we're really not beating a damn thing. Even if he raised with a mid PP we're still behind.

I generally hate to get off hands I 3 bet PF, but this is a horrible flop for our hand. If I decide I'm going to a SD with A high I'd rather try to control the hand and ge tthe cheaply. So if you were committed to going to the SD I'd prefer raising the flop, hopefully get a free turn card and see what the river brings.

I'll raise the flop if I can trust the information. If this is the the kind of mizor who'll three bet a draw, your line is alright.
