AH- yeah notta makers fan. I know its like the standard upper-shelfish bourbon, but MEH...I dno. I bartended some in college also (HOLLA!) - at chiles though, so alas, we did not have much in the way of top shelf liquors...Im a self taught souse. We did, however, have 'Two-Fifty-Teas-On-Tuesday', which meant all the tea drinks (Long islands, etc.) were $2.50. And they were strong as hell too. I gotta lotta fond, slightly fuzzy memories of them days...

Anyways ill take a crack atta few scotches i guess-- not too many i like alot but a buddy of mine is really into scotch, and his ex was a graphic designer and had one the the most prolific liquor stores in the city as a client, so he got mad stuff for cheap and/or free...soo..
Laphroaig(sp) was a good one. The mizors i know that drink scotch think the 15yr is the cats PJs and things.
Macallan is tite, pretty sweet.
TALISKER: Okay so this crap i drank on one of my birthdays. This shit is over 120proof, and it hits hard. However, it is one of the best tasting whiskeys i have tasted. I wouldnt be terribly ashamed to water this one down a little bit if i was drinkin it to like, be cool and interesting and enjoy it and things. As fate would have it, i have never drank that way...someday.

My favorite:
Sherry finish to take the bite away, and add more complex aromas over ice.

If you are dropping 50 quid on a bottle, find the "Cask Strength" 12 year old.

Glenmorangie has a sherry wood finish which is okay.
The Medeira cask finish was interesting.

Bushmills Black Bush was the first Single malt I tried. Strong and warm, not too peaty.

Oban for a traditional scotch, strong peat, nice pepper, smooth finish.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.
