Dont lead into me unless youre serious

Postby iceman5 » Sat Dec 09, 2006 11:43 am

Rarely will I allow someone to lead into me without making them pay. Here are some examples. I may or may not have a real hand.

#1) I open raise to $7 on the button. Both blinds call. They have $200. I cover.

Pot $21. Flop [Ad][4s][2s]. SB checks, BB leads $2. I raise to $16. SB folds, BB calls.
Pot $53. Turn [As]. He checks, I bet $25 and he calls.
Pot $103. River [5h]. He leads $4. I raise to $66. What do I have?

#2) 1 limper, next guy ($111) raises to $6. I make it $20 and he calls heads up.
Pot $45. Flop [Qs][4s][3d]. He leads $16. I raise to $51. What do I have?

#3) I raise to $7 in the cutoff. Button and BB call. Effective stacks about $190.
Pot $23. Flop [Ts][8d][4s]. BB leads $4. I raise to $20.

#4) I raise to $7 UTG. UTG+1 ($120) calls. BB ($120) calls.

Pot $22. Flop [Ad][8d][3d]. BB leads $8. I raise to $28. Next guy pushes.

#5) UTG ($117) limps, I raise to $10 on the button and he calls heads up.

Pot $23 Flop [7d][6h][3h]. He leads $8. I raise to $28 and he calls.
Pot $79. Turn [3s]. He checks, I bet $42.

Can anyone put me on hand in these? I have hands ranging from a monster to nothing. Which is which?

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

its not really possible to tell what you have specifically. there's very little info provided on your opponents or the table conditions.

hand 1: quads, full house, flush, A-x, 43, A3, bluff.

hand 2: AA, KK, QQ, spades, 65, Q-x.

hand 3: JJ+, set, T8, 97, 76, spades, bluff.

hand 4: A-x, set, flush, A[Kd], bluff.

and so on. your range is huge precisely because your opponents are leading so weak.

Some nice flop betting and river betting im suprised you gave him action especially the river that 4 bucks into a $103 pot would scare the hell out of me (sarcasm)
